about
NocturnalSol is thrilled to bring you the 5th single, She Likes It!, from LORENZO BUHNE's forthcoming full-length album "Oznerol Era" coming our way June 2023.
"Oznerol Era" is the first installment of our MUSINGS SERIES and is a group of songs written, rearranged and recorded by Lorenzo between 1984 to 1990. These are previously unreleased recordings, remixes and demos from Lorenzo during his tenure as the bass player for the bands The Dickies and Fear.
LORENZO: This song brings back so many memories and still rocks me. A musical stream of consciousness 1st draft, that’s obvious by the quality of the piece.
It is a demo which I recorded on my own at my place in El Sereno
I played all the instruments and mixed it.
The whole thing took about an hour so I wouldn’t forget the idea and
I never returned to it.
I used a stock preset for the drum’s rhythm and recorded that first, then bass, guitar, and vocals last. When the guitar solo came up I sang it as a guide.
At that time I was reading Freud and Jung alongside a new relationship so I meant all the lyrical gibberish.
We were addicted to each other having fun trying to figure out our human behaviour, which explains why the chorus is a series of questions that on the surface are immature.
I have recently mastered the original mix from a cassette tape.
What was then is what it is now. (Lorenzo Buhne/Oznerol - April 2023)
Lorenzo made a name for himself in the U.S. and Europe playing with legendary punk bands FEAR and The Dickies. After moving
to New Zealand in 2003, he released two aadventurous Italian albums, 2005’s Sotto Sopra and 2008’s Buon Giorno.
Lorenzo then turned his attention to New Zealand poetry, and began a journey which has culminated in Wild Iron, his most ambitious and beautiful work to-date....more

This collaboration is a perfect example of the innovation that can happen when electro and roots music serve, rather than fight, one another. Bandcamp Album of the Day May 22, 2020
With the woozy rhythms of trip-hop and the elasticity of funk, Ria Hall’s “Rules Of Engagement” is a moving meditation on love & revolution. Bandcamp New & Notable Oct 9, 2017
